July / August

Thank you firstly to Finbar & Anne and also to Susan & Mick for the fantastic training evening we had at their homes. In both cases huge work went in to preparing the courses for us and it really was appreciated.

Since the last update our members have been to Cork Show Grounds for a Regional combined training day, Hillcrest for a One Day Event, Keohane’s for a training evening and finally to Lismore for a One Day event as well as the two training evenings above. All in all a very busy few weeks!

We not only managed to attend all these events but even managed to scoop a few prizes. At Cork Show we had Ciaran Bouse 2^nd, Margie Hadden 3^rd, Niamh Grainger 2^nd and Anna Marie Hughes 1st

Brian and Ben took 1^st Place in the Advanced Primary at Galbally, with Aine and Forrest Berry in 3^rd and Aoife on her on Rogue Trader in 6^th. Barbara Maher also took 6^th place in the Intermediate competition.

The next successful day for Earlswell was in Lismore’s One Day Event. John Cantillon took both 5^th and 6^th place in the Advanced Intermediate with Busterette and Mr Nice Guy. Niamh Grainger took 2^nd in the Intermediate with Fresh Knight and finally Susan O’Regan and Zanka where 2^nd and Deirdre Falvey and Billy where 4^th in the Advanced Primary.

Monday 18^th August Training Evening @ Killeady Ballinhassig

As always we open up the course to out own members on the Monday evening to allow them the chance to have a training evening including the dressage, show jumping & x-country.There is no charge for this event but it is only available to members who have helped in the organising if the ODE in some way!

Entries for this given the size of the event usually have to be in quite early so keep and eye on web and check with your buddy

Sunday 14^th September One Day Event Funcheon Valley Riding Club Venue to be confirmed but the club have put it in the diary and if you are interested in attending keep an eye out for entry details

Sunday 21^st September Aghabullogue Show Jumping & Dressage Training

If you plan to go to this event you also need to be thinking about it now. If you intend staying over theSaturday or Sunday night or both please let Fiona know by 4^th August. We usually try to book accommodation and stables as a group but we large numbers we can’t always guarantee places, so it’s better to start early. If you give me your details and ask me to book we will need deposits in advance and there is not guarantee these will be refunded if you end up not going! If you’d prefer to make your own arrangements obviously that’s fine too!
